My Hair Is 90% Of My Personality
What is our hair and what does it mean to us? It is just biology and a part of our anatomic makeup? A fibrous biomaterial growing from the follicles found growing from the dermis of our scalp and various other places on the body. Is its care a religious obligation? In biblical times grooming was a religious tradition as specially mentioned by the apostle Paul, “Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him? But if a woman have long hair, it is a glory to her: for her hair is given her for a covering” (1 Cor. 11:14-15). A common part of the hijab in Islam is that a woman’s hair be covered by a head scarf as a symbol of modesty. Other head coverings are common in Orthodox Judaism, and the Mennonite religions. Dreadlocks are a common style among Rastafarians. Is it a cultural or social symbol? A rebellious punk Mohawk, a redneck mullet, long blonde Barbie locks, or dark gothic hair can all be a way of distinguishing our personality and social group in which we belong. In any case, however we choose to define hair, what is important is how we feel about ourselves. My sister Lindsay with her long curly hair insists that, “My Hair is 90% of my personality.” Although she doesn’t mean this literally, we can see that our hair is a way to express ourselves. It show others who we are and how we feel. I have found that our appearance and good grooming can help us feel rejuvenated, energized, happy, and ready to take on life. I love making people look good and feel confident about themselves. I hope to be able to share through this blog, how hair inspires me, helps me express my creativity and makes me happy. I plan on sharing through this blog, hairstyles for all occasions, (my portfolio) other’s hair that I have personally done, how to videos, and anything having to do with current trends in hair. I hope you will be excited and inspired by my blog and make your hair “90 % of your personality!” Thanks!

WHAT AN AMAZING BLOG - CREATED BY AN AMAZING AND TALENTED STYLIST!
ReplyDeleteGreat post Cassandra! I know it sounds weird but I always felt like my hair defined me a bit. Ever since I was little, if people didn't know me, they knew the girl with that thick red/auburn hair.
